About Fit Visalia

Outdoor fitness, movement education, and confidence-building for kids ages 6–13.

A Family Idea That Grew Into a Community Program

Hi, I’m Scott Belknap — a lifelong Central Valley resident, father of four, and passionate advocate for kids’ health and movement.

Fit Visalia began when I started organizing outdoor fitness sessions with my own kids and their friends. These simple weekly meetups quickly became the highlight of our week. Kids loved having a supportive space to move, explore, and learn outdoors, and parents loved seeing their children grow more confident, stronger, and happier.

That joy — and the desire to build lifelong healthy habits — inspired me to create Fit Visalia: a fun, accessible outdoor fitness program designed to help kids feel strong, connected, and excited
to move.

Helping Kids Discover That Movement Feels Good

Fit Visalia exists to help children build confidence, strength, and a love for activity.
We welcome every child — all fitness levels, personalities, and backgrounds — and create an environment where every child can participate at their own pace.

Our mission is simple:
Help kids discover that their bodies are capable, movement feels good, and they belong here.

Meet the Belknap Family

Family is the heartbeat of Fit Visalia. My wife, Robbin, and I are blessed with four awesome kids who inspire this program every day. They bring their own personalities, strengths, and smiles — and they love helping other kids feel welcome.

    Scott

    FOUNDER

  • A woman with shoulder-length dark hair, wearing a black fuzzy sweater and white pants, sitting on a striped blanket-covered surface in a room with a beige sofa and neutral wall, smiling slightly and looking to her left.

    Robbin

    THE ENCOURAGER

Robbin is the heart of our home. She loves connecting with others, cheering on every child, and creating a joyful, uplifting environment wherever she goes. Kids instantly feel loved and included when she’s around.

  • A young girl with blonde hair wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, a green vest, and a long-sleeved striped shirt, standing outdoors with blurred trees in the background.

    Marilyn

    THE CREATIVE EXPLORER

Marilyn brings imagination and adventure into everything she does. She loves new challenges, makes friends effortlessly, and helps younger kids feel brave trying new activities.

  • A young girl with curly brown hair, wearing a pink headband, gold earrings, and a colorful dress, standing outdoors with a blurred background.

    Genevieve

    THE BRAVE LEADER

Genevieve leads with courage and kindness. Whether she’s climbing, running, or helping a friend, she gives her best and encourages others to do the same.

    Franklin

    THE ENERGETIC OPTIMIST

Franklin has a contagious enthusiasm. He’s quick to smile, quick to play, and always ready to help others have fun — especially during group games and relay races.

  • A young boy with short, dark hair and a bright smile, wearing a blue and red T-shirt with the words "Levi's" and "Fashion" on it, standing outdoors on a rooftop or parking lot with a blurred cityscape in the background.

    Winston

    THE DETERMINED COMPETITOR

Winston loves competition and pushing his limits — but he also knows how to cheer on everyone around him. He brings determination, grit, and big energy to our fitness adventures.
